O’Brien County, Iowa — The Youth Pheasant Hunting Season was this past weekend, with the season opening for all pheasant hunters this Saturday, October 27th.
To celebrate Youth Pheasant Hunting Season the Prairie Heritage Center near Peterson hosted a Youth Pheasant Hunt this past Saturday morning. O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells us more.
Elyea says that, not only was last Saturday’s youth hunt a huge success, but she says the pheasant numbers look good for hunters this season.
She says there are some great pheasant hunting areas in southeast O’Brien County.
The regular Pheasant Hunting Season in Iowa runs from this Saturday, October 27th through January 10th.
