Extension Offices To Celebrate Extension and Outreach Week April 18-23

Primghar, Iowa — Next week is Extension and Outreach Week in Iowa, and local extension offices are commemorating it in a number of ways.

O’Brien County Extension and Outreach’s K-12 Youth, Communities, and Human Science Program Coordinator Kate Stewart tells us what they are doing for Extension Week.

She tells us the main message they want people to remember during Extension Week.

Meanwhile, the Lyon County community is invited to celebrate with ISU Extension and Outreach Lyon County on Wednesday, April 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the office located at 710 N. 2nd Ave. East in Rock Rapids. Extension employees will be hosting a come-and-go celebration over the lunch hour on Wednesday, April 20.

Shari’s Kitchen will have her food truck in the ISU Extension and Outreach Lyon County parking lot from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., serving BBQ Pork, Buffalo Chicken, Hamburger sliders, and salads. After purchasing lunch from the food truck, community members and volunteers are invited to head into the office’s conference room for a complimentary dessert from the Extension office.

In Osceola County, you can attend their Extension Week Kick-Off Night on Monday, April 18 from 5-7 p.m. at their office. They’ll also have coffee and cookies from 9 to 10 a.m. April 19, 20 and 21. They also have a recipe contest. Click here for more information.

Again, Extension and Outreach Week is next week — April 18-23, 2022.
