Northwest Iowa — For the past few days we’ve been telling you that our area is under an Excessive Heat Warning, issued by the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.
We asked NWS Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp to tell us what constitutes an Excessive Heat Warning.
Heitkamp went on to explain how our current weather conditions came about.
He says people need to take the Excessive Heat Warning seriously, and take precautions to prevent becoming sick from the heat.
The Excessive Heat Warning for our area went into effect Wednesday afternoon at 1:00, and will continue through Friday evening at 7:00.
