Feenstra Votes to Help Small Businesses Recover after Disasters

Washington, DC — The US House of Representatives has passed legislation that will help small businesses recover after disasters, thanks, in part, to support from northwest Iowa’s Congressman.

Staff in U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra’s (R-Hull) office is touting his support of the Rural Small Business Resilience Act, which passed the House on Tuesday.

They tell us the legislation would ensure that small businesses have full access to the financial support that they need after a disaster.

Feenstra says, “In Iowa, we’ve faced floods, tornadoes, and derechos that have devastated our communities and hurt our businesses on Main Street, which are the backbone of our economy. When disaster strikes, we need to ensure that our small businesses have the immediate financial support that they need to get back on their feet. That’s why I voted for the Rural Small Business Resilience Act so that our small businesses can access disaster assistance, recover as quickly as possible, and keep employees on payroll. Serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, I’ll continue to support policies that strengthen our business community and grow our main streets.”
