Final Summer Theatre Performance Of Season Opens Thursday Night

Sheldon, Iowa — The final production of the season for the Sheldon High School Summer Theatre is a musical that opens Thursday evening.

This week’s production is entitled Bright Star and is under the direction of Lexie Merley and Lissa Lane-Johnson.

Merley tells us a little about the plot of Bright Star.

Ada Borer is one of the actors making up the cast of Bright Star and she says she plays the villian in the story.

Rachel Maggert portrays Alice Murphy, and she talks about that role.

Co-Director Lissa Lane-Johnson says there’s something for everyone to enjoy about this bluegrass musical, which is inspired by a true story.

The Musical Bright Star, the final production of the 2021 Sheldon Summer Theatre season will be performed this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at the Sheldon High School, with performances each evening at 8:00. Tickets for large groups may be reserved by calling the Sheldon High School, but individual and small group tickets will be sold at the door. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and those senior citizens who have a pass, with children 3 and under are admitted free. Doors open at 7:30 each evening.
