Northwest Iowa — The general election is coming up on Tuesday (November 8, 2016.) and northwest Iowa voters will be selecting several candidates.
Voters will chose a President and Vice President team, a U.S. Senator, and a U.S. Representative for Iowa District 4. Voters in some areas will be selecting state representatives, state senators, county supervisors, county auditors, and county sheriffs.
Down the ballot, there are also soil and water conservation commissioners, and county agricultural extension council members. In some areas there are also township trustees on the ballot. Voters will also be asked if Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Associate Judges should be retained. Other local positions will also be decided.
One item on the Lyon County ballots will not be tallied. County officials say a question of whether gambling should continue to be allowed at a gambling facility in the county — was inadvertently included on the ballot.
