UPDATE: Fire Fighters Extinguish Dump Truck Fire

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Firefighters were summoned to a fire at AGP in Sheldon early Saturday morning.

Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms says the call came in about 5:20 Saturday morning of a dump truck on fire at the AGP south lot, at 804 2nd Avenue in Sheldon.

Harms says firefighters arrived to find wood and railroad ties ablaze in the bed of a 1991 GMC Topkick dump truck.  Harms says firefighters extinguished the blaze with water, and were on scene for about 35-minutes.

Harms estimates damage at about $2-thousand.  The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Firefighters were called to a fire at Ag Processing in Sheldon early Saturday morning (May 13th).

Sheldon Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms tells KIWA that the call came in about 5:20 Saturday morning, and when firefighters arrived at the scene they found a blaze in the bed of a dump truck.  Harms says the bed of the truck contained wood and railroad ties.

No other details are available at this time, and the cause of the fire is undetermined, according to Harms.
