Flu Shot Clinics Available In Area; Experts: Get Your Flu Shot

Northwest Iowa — If you say the word “vaccine,” since the pandemic started, most people will think of COVID. But other vaccines are important to get, say medical professionals. One of the most common, since people need it every year — is the influenza (or flu) vaccine. And there are a number of flu shot clinics coming up in our area.

Sanford Sheldon tells us they are doing some drive-thru flu shot clinics in October. The dates are

Monday, Oct. 4 – 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 6 – 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 9 – 8 a.m. – noon
Monday, Oct. 11 – 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 13 – 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 16 – 8 a.m. – noon

Sanford Sheldon tells us that flu vaccines are also available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in their clinic. Call them for more information.

At Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley, Director of Community Health Services Pam Juber tells us about getting a flu shot in Osceola County.

At the Orange City Area Health System, you have two more opportunities to receive your flu shot in a clinic setting. They are this Wednesday, September 29th, and Tuesday, October 5th. You are asked to download, print, and complete an Influenza Consent Form and bring it with you. If those don’t work for you — or for more information, you can call the Orange City Area Health System.

At Avera Rock Rapids, they are offering flu shot clinics on Monday, October 11th from 4 pm-7 pm and on Saturday, October 16th from 8 am-12 pm. Avera Rock Rapids is also offering flu shot clinics at their George clinic this Wednesday, September 29th from 4 pm-7 pm, and Wednesday, October 13th from 4 pm-7 pm.

Sanford Rock Rapids is offering drive-thru flu shot clinics on Wednesday, October 6th from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 16th from 9 – 11:30 a.m.

Most, if not all of these facilities also take walk-ins and make appointments for flu shots as well. Remember, you can also get a flu shot at many pharmacies in the area, at community health centers, and through your county health department.
