Sutherland, Iowa — After many months of not really having a police department, the City of Sutherland has hired someone to fill the lone position on the department.
Sutherland Mayor Kay Gifford tells us they have selected someone to serve as Sutherland Police Chief.
She gives us some background on Nixon.
She tells us they also have some work to do with the police department.
Gifford says Nixon will start in November.
