Sheldon, Iowa — If you’ve received a postcard in the mail that looks like it’s from your bank and about your mortgage — be careful. Banks are telling us there is someone mailing out cards that look like they’re from banks, but really aren’t.
We talked to Jaime Meyer who manages the mortgage department at Iowa State Bank. She tells us more.
She says from their point of view, you should just disregard the postcard. She tells us how those sending the cards are getting the information to send them out.
Meyer says it’s not limited to Iowa State Bank. Customers of other banks are getting the cards too. She says if you ever receive anything like this and you’re not sure if it’s legitimate, you should call your bank or lender.
