Godfather’s Pizza In Sheldon Has Closed

Godfathers for saleSheldon, Iowa — One of Sheldon’s pizza restaurants has closed.

After more than 33 years of serving pizza to the people of Sheldon and the surrounding area, Godfather’s Pizza has closed its doors for the final time.

Brad Price, the franchise owner of the pizzeria on Highway 18, just east of Hardee’s and Old Highway 60 released a statement on their Facebook page today.

Saying it was a tough decision, the statement cites the labor market in Sheldon as the reason for the closing.

Price writes, “Our main reason for closing Sheldon has to deal with the ability to fully staff our operation. People are the staple in the service industry and unfortunately for us, it’s very competitive in the marketplace.” He says that it is a very unfortunate situation that he says has been growing in many communities.

It’s always a tough business decision to close and this location is no exception, especially with 33 years of history.”

The statement says that gift cards and coupons will be accepted in their Le Mars, Spencer and Sioux City locations.
