Hartley To Hold Election To Select Mayor

Hartley, Iowa — Residents of Hartley will be selecting a new mayor in early 2017.

According to Hartley City Clerk/Administrator Patty Anderson, mayor John Lyman submitted a letter of resignation on Wednesday, November 16th. The letter indicated that the resignation was effective immediately.

The Hartley City Council voted at their November 29th special meeting to hold a special election to fill the mayor’s chair. It is scheduled for January 10th, 2017 from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m.

If you are a Hartley resident interested in serving as mayor you need to return nomination papers by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16th, 2016, to the O’Brien County Auditor’s Office in Primghar.
