Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Hotel-Motel Tax grant application deadline is approaching again. The Sheldon Marketing Committee is in charge of selecting grant recipients.
We talked with Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation Director Curt Strouth, who tells us that the tax is gathered from those who stay in Sheldon’s hotels and motels.
He says they are asking for grant proposals at this time.
Strouth says that the Sheldon Marketing Committee will evaluate the proposals and decide which of them to fund.
He gives us some examples of projects they’ve funded in the past.
Strouth says if you are interested in applying for a Hotel-Motel Tax Grant, the application form is available at sheldoniowa.com, or you can contact the SCDC at 324-2813. The deadline for applications to be turned in is November 30th.
