Hull Man Pleads Not Guilty To Stabbing Roommate, Other Charges

estrada-martinezOrange City, Iowa — A Hull man accused of stabbing his roommate earlier this month has entered a written plea of Not Guilty to charges of Assault With Intent To Inflict Serious Injury, Identity Theft, Obstruction, Unlawful Possession of a License or ID Card, and three counts of Forgery.

Sioux County authorities say the charges stemmed from the report of an assault that occurred at a residence in Hull.  Deputies say that their investigation of the incident revealed that 42-year old Jose Estrada-Martinez of Hull had stabbed his roommate with a knife-sharpening steel rod.  Authorities say that victim sustained minor injuries in the stabbing.

Deputies say further investigation revealed that Estrada-Martinez had provided a false name and a false Minnesota identification card, and had been working at B & M Concrete in Hull under someone else’s identity.  Deputies also discovered that Estrada –Martinez was previously arrested in Sioux County three other times and he provided another false name for those arrests.

According to authorities, Estrada‐Martinez was arrested for assault with intent to do injury, obstructing prosecution, providing false information, possession of false identification, forgery and identity theft.
