Iowa Unemployment Rate Steady For 12 Consecutive Months

Statewide Iowa — (RI) — The weather has been unpredictable from hot to cold in the last year — but that’s not the case for the unemployment rate.

Iowa Workforce Development’s Donna Burkett says June kept the run intact.

Burkett says the rate stayed the same despite some job growth.

She says it looks like things have just leveled off without any major changes.

She says the labor force participation rate increase — it was a slight increase — but it shows more people are entering the labor force. So, that went from 69-point–two to 69-point-four.

The US unemployment rate increased slightly to three-point-seven (3.7) percent in June.
