Judges Select Two People To Serve As Clerks Of Court

Northwest Iowa — Two people have been named clerks of court in northwest Iowa.

According to District Court Administrator Peggy Frericks, the 3A District Court Judges have selected two candidates to fill the Clerk of Court vacancies in Sub-District 3A. She says the Judges interviewed 12 candidates, including both external and internal applicants.

Teresa L. Gregory has been selected to be Clerk of Court for Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, and Osceola Counties. Frericks says Gregory has been working in the Dickinson and Emmet County Clerk of Court offices for ten years achieving the title of Judicial Specialist 4. She received her Associate of Science degree in Paralegal studies from Iowa Lakes Community College and successfully completed the Judicial Branch’s Foundation of Leadership Management training.

Frericks tells us Tami Christensen has been selected to be Clerk of Court for Buena Vista, Clay, Kossuth, O’Brien, and Palo Alto counties. She says Christensen has been working in the Clay County Clerk of Court office for 15 years in addition to 7 years of experience with the Department of Corrections. Frericks tells us Christensen attended the Spencer School of Business and successfully completed the Judicial Branch’s Applied Management training.

Unemployment rate drops in April

The April unemployment rate dropped to two-point-eight percent compared to two-point-nine percent in March. Iowa Workforce Development director, Beth Townsend, says
