UPDATE With Audio: Sheldon Golden Egg FOUND

Sheldon, Iowa — We recently had a chance to visit with the winner of the Sheldon Golden Egg Contest.

Adam Bohrer found the egg on only the second day of clues. He tells us where he found the egg.

He tells us how he made the connection to know where to look.

Bohrer says they’re probably not going to use their winnings the same way most people who find the golden egg would.

There was no Golden Egg Hunt last year, due to COVID, but otherwise, it’s an anticipated annual event in Sheldon.

Sheldon, Iowa — An event that’s been on hiatus for a while is coming back in Sheldon.

Allison Cooke, who is helping out the Sheldon Chamber with this event tells us about the Golden Egg Hunt.

Cooke tells us that if someone finds the egg early in the contest, it’s worth $500.

She tells us how it works.

Cooke tells us the value of the egg will go down the longer it takes to find it, so it would behoove people to look early. But she says the value won’t dip below $400.

She says it won’t be on private property or anything like that.
