Northwest Iowa — The Labor Day holiday weekend is just a few days away, and as the last big weekend of the summer season, many people will be taking to the roadways.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vicne Kurtz reminds motorists that troopers will be out in force this weekend, enforcing the law and keeping motorists safe.
Trooper Kurtz says he expects a lot of people to be on the road this weekend.
He says his best advice this weekend, and always, is to drive defensively.
Kurtz reminds motorists to keep an especially sharp eye out for motorcycles.
As for motorcyclists, Kurtz says they have to be the most defensive drivers on the road, since they are harder for other motorists to see. He says bikers should expect, and prepare for, not being seen by the motorists around them.
Kurtz wishes everyone a happy and SAFE Labor Day weekend.
