Sheldon, Iowa — In the wake of the departure of former Sheldon City Manager Sean Hutchison, the Sheldon City Council is preparing to search for a replacement.
Sheldon Mayor Katricia Meendering says the City has hired Hinson Consulting Service to assist in that search. Mayor Meendering talks about some of the services Hinson Consulting will provide to the City.
Meendering says the individuals working with Sheldon to recruit a city manager are, themselves, city administrators.
She says Hinson Consulting will be meeting this week with the Council, senior management and the Mayor to get a clear picture of what Sheldon wants in a city manager.
Meendering says the cost of Hinson’s services will be about what the City would be paying a manager for the same period of time.
Mayor Meendering says the City could, conceivably, be ready to announce the name of a new city manager by mid-to-late September.
In the interim, City Clerk Angie Beckman, and Public Works Director Todd Uhl are sharing the City Manager’s duties until such time as a new manager comes on board.
