Meat Market/Butcher Shop Coming To Sanborn

Sanborn, Iowa — Northwest Iowa livestock farmers and those looking for some great meat to grill or smoke will soon have a new resource in O’Brien County. There will soon be a new full-service butcher shop in Sanborn.

Kent Douma tells us his son Keegan will run the butcher shop, which will be called “The Cut Meat Market.” (We asked Keegan to make sure, and the “pause” is between “Cut” and “Meat.” So it’s “The Cut – Meat Market.”)

Keegan Douma tells us about what services and products they hope to offer.

Douma tells us a little about his background.

He says they’ll have more than just meat. In fact, they’re working with someone now who will be making homemade sides and more for them to sell.

Douma says they’re not giving out their phone number and website right now, as they are not ready to book anything just yet. But that will happen soon.

Douma says they’re going into a new building in eastern Sanborn.

O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation executive director Kiana Johnson says there really is a need for meat lockers and processing facilities in northwest Iowa, so she’s excited that the Doumas are opening “The Cut” in Sanborn.
