Sheldon, Iowa — It’s time for National Night Out. And this year, Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest in Sheldon is going to be hosting a get-together.
Brianna Harris from Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest tells us it’s a national program.
She says National Night Out was designed as a time for police and emergency responders to get out and meet the people they serve, and vice versa.
If you go, Harris says you might get a chance to meet an officer of the four-legged variety too.
There’s more planned too, says Harris.
Again, the event will be held Tuesday evening, August 4th, 2026, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm, and will feature law enforcement officers from the Sheldon Police Department, O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Sioux County Sheriff’s Deputy Jessica Dorhout and her K9 partner, Big Mack, as well as the Iowa State Patrol.
