Minions On The Roof At East Elementary

Sheldon, Iowa — It’s become a tradition on the last morning of school prior to the Christmas break. Once again Friday (December 21st) morning, Sheldon East Elementary students were treated to a special sight as they arrived at school, where minions waited atop the building to welcome to school.

East Principal Jason Groendyke says the tradition dates back five years, when he took to the roof at East dressed like the “Elf on a Shelf” that was the craze at that time.

From “Elf on the School” five years ago, to the minions on the building this year, Groendyke says each year it gets bigger and better.

He says it’s a fun way to begin what is traditionally a fun day, and it’s something the kids enjoy very much.

Some photos, along with a short video of the “Minions on the School” can be viewed below.
