Ames, Iowa — A total of 1,050 landowners have voluntarily signed easement agreements with Summit Carbon Solutions for their proposed carbon capture pipeline.
Summit Carbon Solutions’ CEO Lee Blank says more landowners are signing the easement agreements because it could help the ag economy, commodity prices, and Iowa land values.
Summit Carbon Solutions says they would invest 987 million dollars in construction in Iowa. The company estimates the average investment per county would be 31 million dollars. Just in Iowa, there would be 46,900 miles of active pipeline when the project is finished.
As of right now, 12 ethanol plants have partnered with Summit Carbon Solutions. These ethanol plants are Corn LP of Goldfield, Golden Grain Energy of Mason City, Green Plains of Shenandoah and Superior, Homeland Energy of Lawler, Lincolnway Energy of Nevada, Little Sioux Corn Processors of Marcus, Louis Dreyfus of Grand Junction, Pine Lake Corn Processors of Steamboat Rock, Plymouth Energy of Merrill, Quad County Corn of Galva, and Siouxland Energy of Sioux Center.
