NCC Offering Wide Variety of Life & Leisure Courses

Sheldon, Iowa – Have you ever found yourself staring in the fridge at night wondering what to make for supper? Do you wish your computer skills were just a little bit better?  Or do you have trouble finding anything from your keys to that “oh so important” paper that you just had yesterday?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then Northwest Iowa Community College is here to help!  NCC offers a wide range of Life & Leisure classes throughout the year to help you brush up on skills you already have, or to help you learn something completely new.

Coming up this Tuesday at the Sioux Center Library, NCC is offering a course to help you create organization in your home and your life. This course will guide individuals to start restoring order to their homes and lives. Attendees will learn key and practical ways to minimize clutter, better utilize their space, maximize time in their day, tame paper, as well as learn how to maintain the order on-going. This course offers support to busy moms, empty nesters, and to any life stage in between.

On Thursday, August 30th, NCC is offering a course on the basic functions of Microsoft Outlook at the NCC Campus. Email “Netiquette” will be taught as you learn how to read, create, send, and forward e-mail messages. Learn how to organize messages and attachments, manage your Outlook calendar, create contacts, set up and share your calendar and contact groups, as well as use Outlook tasks and rules. Hands-on instruction will be provided with Microsoft Outlook 2016 software.

In September, there’s a class on Insta-Pot cooking at the NCC Campus. There’s also a freezer meal class on September 24th (with registration due by September 21st), where participants will create five different meals to feed their families. Each meal will serve 4 to 6 people and all supplies for the meals will be furnished. This course is designed to help make weeknight cooking a breeze.

Full details, as well as links to sign up for each of these classes are located on the Community Calendar. If you have questions about a class, you can contact NCC at 712-324-5061.
