No Ice Cream Trucks Are Licensed To Sell In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — There have been many reports via social media and word of mouth during recent days of an ice cream truck making the rounds on the streets of Sheldon.  Some of the stories call it a meat truck.  And in versions of the story, there are some rather bizarre reports of strange sales tactics by the people operating the vehicle.

KIWA talked to Sheldon City Manager Sean Hutchison, who told us that while he can’t say for certain whether there has actually been one of these ice cream trucks peddling their wares in town, there has been no City Peddler’s License, or Transient License issued to any ice cream or meat truck by the City of Sheldon.  He says, therefore, none may legally operate within the City of Sheldon.

So, if an ice cream truck, or meat truck, is peddling their wares in your neighborhood, they are in violation City ordinance, and should be reported to authorities.
