Primghar, Iowa — Timothy Overmire appears to be the next District 1 O’Brien County Supervisor, after an election on Tuesday, December 7th.
Out of 138 total votes, 117 went to Overmire, who was the Republican candidate. No Democrats filed for the position, nor did anyone run as nominated by petition, so Overmire was unopposed. Out of 21 write-in votes, 19 of them were for Justin McCarty.
Sherri Bootsma resigned from her position on the O’Brien County Board as Supervisor District 1 in October. Bootsma’s resignation was due to her moving out of O’Brien County.
District 1 makes up a large part of northeast and eastern O’Brien County.
