Sheldon, Iowa — A passing motorist with a fire extinguisher saved the day for a motorist south of Sheldon Tuesday morning.
According to Sheldon Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms, the Sheldon Fire Company and Sheldon Emergency Management Agency were called out for a car fire, about a mile south of Sheldon on Highway 60 around 8:15 Tuesday morning.
Harms says that by the time firefighters arrived everyone was out of the car, and the fire was out. Harms credited a passing motorist with putting out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
No injuries were reported.
