Paullina, Iowa — The future public safety complex in Paullina isn’t the only public safety item for which funds are being raised in the O’Brien County town. The Paullina Ambulance Service is also raising funds.
We talked to Paullina Ambulance Service Director Lauri Struve, and she tells us what’s happening.
Struve tells us about the power load system.
She says this is especially helpful with larger patients and smaller EMTs.
Also, says Struve, they are especially thankful that they now have a crew of 18 instead of a crew of 5. She says response times have improved greatly. But with a bigger team, also come more expenses.
She says they have helped out with several activities to raise funds for the future public safety complex, including a couple of things during this past weekend’s Gemboree.
As far as fundraising for the ambulance, in particular, Struve says at this time, they are just asking for donations, but they may have some fun fundraisers coming in the future.
