Prairie Heritage Center Gets Big Donation

O’Brien County, Iowa — The Prairie Heritage Center, which is located in southeastern O’Brien County, announced the receipt of a very generous gift during a press conference held early Tuesday afternoon.

O’Brien County native Gregg Struve presented the Prairie Heritage Center with a check for $100,000 in memory of his parents, Dan and Jean Struve. In addition, Struve pledged an additional $200,000 to establish a Dan and Jean Struve Charitable Endowment to benefit the Prairie Heritage Center.

Gregg Struve talked about how his dad had been an O’Brien County Supervisor for 32-years, and had been one of the driving forces behind the establishment of the Center, advocating for it to be built in the southeastern area of O’Brien County.

Struve noted that the Prairie Heritage Center’s Gallery hasn’t been remodeled since the Center opened in 2006, and said he was excited about the possibilities for refreshing that Gallery.

The Dan and Jean Struve Charitable Endowment to benefit the Prairie Heritage Center will be managed by the Siouxland Community Foundation.
