The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday, April 28, 2016, law enforcement from southeast Wyoming located and apprehended 21-year-old Sioux Falls homicide suspect Jared Jerome Stone after a pursuit through parts of western Nebraska and southeastern Wyoming. No one was injured in the apprehension.

However, the Sioux Falls Department has released information stating that there was a standoff and shots were fired at Wyoming troopers.

Plymouth County authorities got involved when a woman who said that she had been held at gunpoint by Stone was the alleged victim of an assault at the Le Mars Truck Stop early on Tuesday morning. She was charged in South Dakota because authorities there believe she was an accessory to the crime.

Plymouth County Sheriff Mike Van Otterloo says his deputies, along with Le Mars Police, were dispatched to the Le Mars Truck Stop early Tuesday morning to a call reporting an assault.  Van Otterloo says the alleged victim told officers that she had been held at gunpoint by Jared Jerome Stone, a suspect in a homicide that took place outside a Sioux Falls casino Friday night.  Van Otterloo says she told police that Stone had threatened her, and that she had been unable to flee from the vehicle.

The woman, who Sheriff Van Otterloo identified as Lachara Marie Bordeaux, was taken to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office in Le Mars, where she was questioned about the incident.  Detectives from the Sioux Falls Police Department were contacted and arrived in Le Mars early Tuesday morning to interview Bordeaux, according to the Sheriff.

Van Otterloo says the 26-year old Bordeaux is currently being held in the Plymouth County Jail on an arrest warrant from Minnehaha County, South Dakota, charging her with: 1 Count Accessory-Harbor or Conceal, a Class 5 Felony; and 1 Count Accessory Providing Aid To Actor, a Class 5 Felony.  Bond is set at $1-million cash.

Van Otterloo says the suspect in Friday’s murder, Jared Jerome Stone, has not been located, nor has the vehicle in which he has been traveling.  The vehicle is described as a dark blue Chevrolet Lumina 4-door, with South Dakota license 52DC99.  Van Otterloo says a warrant has been issued for Stone charging him with 1st Degree Murder.  Stone is considered armed and extremely dangerous, and should NOT be approached by the public.  Van Otterloo says if you spot him, or the car, you should contact law enforcement immediately.

Stone is 20-years old, is 5-foot, 7-inches in height, and weighs approximately 150 pounds.  He has black hair, and was last seen wearing a black tank top t-shirt, dark colored sweat pants and tennis shoes.  He was also reportedly wearing a beenie type stocking cap.
