Northwest Iowa — As of 7:00 am Tuesday (May 28th) we have received a total of 17.81-inches of precipitation since the first of the year. That figure is less than one-tenth of an inch below TWICE the amount of precipitation that would fall by this time in a normal year.
We talked with meteorologist Brad Temeyer at the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls, and he told us wet weather conditions will continue through Wednesday morning.
Temeyer says we should hang in there, however, because it looks like positive change may be on the way.
He agrees that a break in precipitation is sorely needed across the area.
On a lighter note, Temeyer says that when it comes to the weather, they don’t make it they just predict it. Or, in his words, “we’re not in production, just marketing.”
