Register Now For Area Farmland Leasing and Value Meetings

Primghar, Iowa – The annual Extension Farmland Leasing and Value meetings are coming up in our area again.

Extension experts tell us that the meetings are intended for current and prospective tenants and landlords, and are held across the state. Each meeting will cover: farmland ownership and tenure in Iowa; cover crop research and methods to implement in lease agreements; current cash rental rate and land value survey results; methods for determining fair rent for 2019; legal aspects of farmland leases including strategies for writing and terminating a farm lease; and ISU Extension and Outreach web-based and other resources.

The meetings are approximately three hours in length and all registrants receive a leasing arrangements book.

There is a $20 per individual registration fee, which increases to $25 after the registration deadline and/or at the door the day of the meeting.

In our area, the meetings will start off in Dickinson County. That meeting will be Monday, August 6, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the ISU Extension and Outreach Office in Spirit Lake. Call 712-336-3488 by August 3 to pre-register.
