Sheldon, Iowa — After another year of weather issues at RiseFest, the annual Christian Music Festival in Sheldon, organizers are going to talk about whether changing the date of the festival may be an option to consider. That’s from Rob Roozeboom, Rise Ministries founder and CEO.
We caught up with Roozeboom on a tractor on Monday (he was dragging the festival grounds), and he said it’s an option that will be up for discussion.
On another note, RiseFest 2017 was a record-breaker as far as attendance goes. He says that around 7000 people attended on Friday night. Roozeboom says that more people attended Saturday concerts and festivities than ever before.
He says that he was very pleased with the music, and the audience seemed to like it as well.
He says that they started a new policy with missing kids where they would write the parent’s cell phone number on their wristband so that if they went missing someone could just call the cell phone number and be in touch with the parents. He says that worked very well.
Roozeboom says there will always be challenges, but he says, for the most part, all of the problems are “good problems to have.”
Roozeboom says they are so grateful for everybody, for the partnerships and the festival-goers. He says yes there was adversity, but God is still in control.
