One of the theatre troupes doing dinner theatre this fall is the River Valley Players in Rock Rapids. It’s opening night for the cast of The Hallelujah Girls. The production is being performed Thursday through Saturday nights this week (November 10-12) at the Forster Community Center on First Avenue in Rock Rapids.

Tickets can be purchased via the Rock Rapids Chamber of Commerce. They can be reached at 712-472-3456. The meal is being catered by Tony’s Catering.

Doors at the Forster Community Center open at 5:30, serving begins at 6:00, and the show starts each night at 7:30 p.m.

Judy Gaspar, spokesperson for the River Valley Players says the show is a comedy by the authors of the TV show, The Golden Girls. She says hilarity abounds when the feisty females of Eden Falls, Georgia decide to shake up their lives. Action takes place in SPa Dee Dah, the abandoned church-turned-day spa where this group of friends gathers every Friday afternoon.

The show, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten is presented in agreement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Your next chance to see a dinner theatre production is coming up November 17th through the 20th, when Off, Off Broadway presents Always Patsy Cline. Producer of that show is Brad Vander Pol. The director is Lissa Lane-Johnson. Always Patsy Cline will be performed at the Ashton Community Center. It’ll be catered by the 1015 Steak Company. Call them to make a reservation.
