Riverboat Foundation Accepting Applications For Fall Grants

Larchwood, Iowa — The Lyon County Riverboat Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2023 Fall Competitive Grant process.

The Lyon County Riverboat Foundation is the nonprofit license-holder of the Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort near Larchwood, and as dictated by law, gives a certain portion of the casino’s gaming take to nonprofit organizations and projects.

Foundation officials tell us the foundation seeks to be the catalyst to help qualified organizations meet needs within Lyon County and beyond in four named areas. They are “Community Development & Beautification,” “Education & Arts,” “Economic Development,” and “Human & Social Needs.” Those eligible to receive grants include non-profit organizations, government entities, and schools. The maximum amount being granted for a project in the 2023 Fall Competitive Grant process is set at $350,000.

They tell us the deadline to submit applications will be September 28th. Notification of grants awarded is set for October 20th, with the award ceremony on November 9th.

Riverboat Foundation officials tell us that the grant projects have to be completed before October 7th, 2024.

They also tell us they are using a new grant management system, and they say applicants will NOT need to send any documents via email nor through the US Postal Service. Everything needed for applications will be facilitated through the grant management system.

If your group or organization would like to complete an application, you can find a link to the grant management system at www.lyoncountyriverboatfoundation.org.
