Sibley, Iowa — One of the defendants in the Sibley home invasion burglary case faces a hearing on Friday.
According to court records, 25-year-old Peter Nazario Alvira of Sibley is one of four people accused of the armed robbery of an occupied home on Third Avenue in Sibley in August.
All four are facing charges of First Degree Robbery, a class B felony. Nazario Alvira entered a plea of “not guilty” on September 16th, 2016.
In Nazario Alvira’s case, a pretrial conference is scheduled for November 10th, with a jury trial on December 20th. His attorney, John Sandy, has asked for the trial to be postponed. The court has not ruled on that motion, but had set a hearing for October 14th. Sandy moved that the hearing also be postponed. Judge Carl Petersen approved that motion and ordered that the hearing be pushed back two weeks to this Friday, October 28th.
