Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man has died in a house fire in Rock Valley.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that the Rock Valley Fire Department was paged to the report of a house fire early on Sunday morning, October 29th, about 2:25 a.m. The fire was at 1416 Fifteenth Street in Rock Valley.
When they arrived, responders discovered a portion of the house was fully engulfed by fire and they were told there was someone still inside. They tell us that firefighters gained entry to the residence, extinguished the fire and discovered a deceased male inside.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, they identified the man as 84-year-old Luis Leuvanos of Rock Valley.
Responding with the Rock Valley Fire Department were the Hull Fire Department, Rock Valley Ambulance Squad, Rock Valley Police Department and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Rock Valley Fire Chief and the Iowa State Fire Marshal.
