We are monitoring the potential for severe weather risks across the region this evening. Scattered strong to severe storms may develop this evening across central South Dakota, and push east and southeast overnight. The greatest threat for severe storms will be south of I-90, mainly along the Missouri River Valley. These storms will have the potential for large hail to golf ball size along with damaging winds to around 70-80 mph. An isolated tornado will also be possible, with this threat more favored in areas of south central South Dakota, including locations along and west of a line from Wessington Springs to Tyndall, SD. Stay tuned to the latest forecast and have a plan to seek shelter if threatening weather approaches.
