Sheldon School Board To Hear From State Science Fair Qualifiers

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session this Wednesday (January 8th), in the High School Library.

The Board looks to have a full agenda for the meeting. they’ll hear a presentation from Middle School Science Teacher Jim Gude and some of his students who qualified for the State Science Fair. The students will be present to talk about the State Science Fair and share information with the Board about their state qualifying projects.

The Board will also receive a trio of employee resignations, and are expected to approve a pair of contract adjustments.

Each of the three building principals, as well as the activities director are scheduled to make presentations to the Board. When Superintendent Cory Myer makes his presentation to the Board some of the items he’ll be discussing will be the ongoing research on a turf field, as well as a School Board Election Results Snapshot.

In other action, the Board is expected to approve the District’s continued soccer sharing program with the Sibley-Ocheyedan Community Schools.

The Board is scheduled to go into closed session for the purpose of a Superintendent Performance Conference, along with a second closed session for a collective bargaining strategy session.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the regular February Board meeting will be held at 5:00 pm Monday, February 10th, in the high school library.

Wednesday’s January Sheldon School Board meeting begins at 5:00 in the Sheldon High School Library.
