Sheldon Summer Lunch In Need Of Monetary Donations

Sheldon, Iowa — Each year, beginning the day after school closes for the year, until the day before the next school year begins, a group of volunteers come together to feed many of Sheldon’s kids.

This year the Sheldon Summer Lunch Program is feeding more meals than ever before, according to Program Coordinator Michelle Noack.

Noack says since the Summer Lunch Program is serving so many more meals each day than they have been used to, they find themselves in need of additional donations to help pay the cost of food.

She says the donations are especially needed because they don’t want to have to turn anyone away.

If you’d like to make a donation to the Sheldon Summer Lunch Program, please make your check to either Sheldon Summer Lunch Program, or to Sheldon United Methodist Church, and put Summer Lunch in the memo line. Checks can be dropped off at the Sheldon United Methodist Church, or mailed to:

Sheldon United Methodist Church
506 8th Street
Sheldon IA 51201

Noack says the increase in the number of meals served has also created a need for more volunteers to help prepare and serve the lunches. You can call the Sheldon United Methodist Church and they’ll put you in touch with someone who can give you specifics on volunteering in the Summer Lunch Program.
