Sheldon Superintendent Thanks Board, Teachers; Board Discusses Future At Latest Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Community School District Board of Education met this Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, we talked to Superintendent Cory Myer on the KIWA morning show. He says one of the things they did at the meeting was honor two groups of people, without which, there wouldn’t be a school district. He says it’s School Board Appreciation Month.

Myer gives us some important upcoming dates.

Myer says he’s proud of the seniors.

Myer tells us they are in the beginning stages of considering what to do about the high school being full to capacity.

He says they’re also trying to peer far into the future and decide what kind of facility they may need 50 years from now. He says the ultimate goal is to do a bond election in November.
