Sheldon United Fund Needs Over $5,500 THIS WEEK

Sheldon, Iowa — Donations to the 2017 Sheldon United Fund will have to top $1000 per day for the next five days for the drive to finish on-goal.

The drive continues through the rest of the month. The goal this year is $31,000.

The fund drive is now 94% finished. But the funds are only at about 82% of goal, at $25,432. Over $5,500 has yet to be raised. In the last week, donors gave $1375.

The board members thank businesses and individuals in Sheldon and the surrounding communities
for their support. They remind you that there are only a few days left in the year to contribute. They also remind potential donors that the money stays local to the 26 organizations. None of it goes to a national organization.

Explanations of the organizations are also available at the dropoff points.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

·Compass Pointe (NW Iowa alcohol & drug treatment)
·Dolly Parton Imagination Library
·Family Crisis Center of Northwest Iowa
·Foster Grandparent Program
·Sheldon Girl Scouts
