Sheriff’s Office Receives Donations For K9 Trials In April

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The date has been set for the police K9 trials in Lyon County, and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has been given some donations recently toward the effort.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, they have been selected to host the United States Police K9 Association 2020 Region 21 Detector Dog Trials. The date has been set for Sunday, April 5th, at Grand Falls Resort & Casino near Larchwood.

Recent donations have come in to help the sheriff’s office pay for lodging for the judges and scorekeepers, meals for everyone, and more.

They tell us that the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation gave them $5000 toward the $10,000 goal.

Oak Street Station in Inwood has also donated two K9 baskets. The sheriff’s office has also recently received donations from Precision Auto and PetSmart, and sheriff’s officials say they are very grateful for the generosity.
