Sibley Passion Play Is Back, Just As Big As Ever

Sibley, Iowa — After a COVID-induced hiatus, a classic performance is coming up on Friday in Sibley. The Passion Play is back.

Gretchen Bartelson is one of the many people helping with the performance and she tells us what it’s all about.

She says free tickets are available and may be reserved by calling 712-754-2945. Church groups and organizations may request enough tickets for their entire group, but people are asked not to reserve more than you actually need. You can just walk in, but they’d prefer to know you’re coming so they can plan.

Bartelson says there will be three performances, all on Friday.

The Osceola County Ministerial Association rents the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School for the performances.

We asked Bartelson how many people help to put on the Passion Play. But she says that’s a little tough to answer. It’s a massive production.

Again there will be three performances at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School Auditorium in Sibley.
