Sioux County Attorney Is Among Finalists For New Judge Position

Orange City, Iowa — The Sioux County Attorney is one of three finalists for a new judge position.

According to Third Judicial District Court Administrator Peggy Frericks, the 3B Judicial Nominating Commission has received three applications for the District Associate Court Judge position.

We are told that the new position is one in which the judge will mainly preside in Sioux County.

Frericks says that the attorneys applying for the position include Sioux County Attorney Thomas G. Kunstle of Orange City, Rosanne L. Plante of Hinton, and Jessica R. Noll of Akron. She says that each applicant will be given an opportunity to appear before the entire commission for a personal interview at the Sioux County Courthouse in Orange City on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

While the main duty will be Sioux County, Judicial Sub-District 3B consists of Crawford, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, Sioux, and Woodbury Counties.

Unemployment rate drops in April

The April unemployment rate dropped to two-point-eight percent compared to two-point-nine percent in March. Iowa Workforce Development director, Beth Townsend, says
