Northwest Iowa — Scattered thunderstorms will occur across the area today and tonight, and some of these storms could be severe. The unsettled weather will continue into the weekend with severe storms remaining a possibility. Temperatures will be warming on Friday and Saturday.
Storm chances ramp up by later this afternoon into tonight along with the potential for strong to severe storms and locally heavy rainfall. The highest chances for thunderstorm activity will reside across northern into central Iowa with the primary severe weather threat being damaging wind gusts. Those with outdoor activities should pay close attention for quickly changing weather conditions and have a sheltering plan in place.
