Doon, Iowa — Three people were taken to a hospital after an accident on Thursday afternoon, October 27th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:20 p.m., Kelsi Bakker was driving a 2008 Lincoln northbound on Elmwood Avenue, also known as County Road K30. Wilma Moser was driving a 2002 Buick westbound on 260th Street, or A52, and, according to the report, was turning left to go south on Elmwood. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Lyon County Deputies, along with the Doon Fire Department, the Doon Rescue Squad, and EMTs from both the Lyon County Ambulance and Rock Valley Ambulance all responded to the scene.
Both drivers, along with Bakker’s two-year old son were transported to Hegg Memorial Health Center (Avera) in Rock Valley.
Damage to the Lincoln is estimated at $12,000 and damage to the Buick is estimated to be $4000.
Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep says the accident remains under investigation.
