Traffic Crash Leads To Arrest

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Rock Valley man faces charges following an investigation into a single-vehicle rollover accident west of Sioux HuizengaCenter early Sunday.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 380th and Fig Avenue, five miles west of Sioux Center, about 3:15 Sunday morning.

Upon arrival at the accident location, deputies reportedly found a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, owned by 33-year old Seth Huizenga, of Rock Valley.  Deputies say the Chevrolet had rolled and the driver of the vehicle left the area and could not be located. Deputies later reportedly located the driver of the vehicle early Sunday afternoon at his residence near Rock Valley.  Deputies say that further investigation revelaed that 33-year old Craig Huizenga was driving the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Fig Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch, rolled the vehicle and left the area on foot.

Huizenga reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.

Deputies say that Craig Huizenga was arrested for Operating A Vehicle Without The Owner’s Consent, as well as Driving A Vehicle While His Driver’s License Was Revoked.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
