Turnout Steady At The Polls; Curbside Voting Available

Northwest Iowa — Turnout at area polls on this election day has apparently been steady.

Sioux County Auditor Ryan Dokter says they’ve had many, many curbside votes due to people with positive COVID cases. Curbside voting is available to anyone who can’t or shouldn’t go inside to vote. For more information on curbside voting, you can call your County Auditor’s office. They will be there until after the polls close, so even if it’s after hours and you need to vote from your car, just call the Auditor’s office.

Dokter says as far as keeping up, he thinks they are doing “just fine.”

He tells us they had nearly 8,400 absentee votes, which is about 2,400 more than in 2016, so he tells us he thinks that has made the polls “a little slower to some degree, if that’s possible.”

Remember to vote and then listen to your vote count tonight on KIWA. We’ll have election reports on KIWA-FM 105.3, KIWA AM 1550, and FM 100.7; and at kiwaradio.com.
