Tuttle 90th Birthday Party/Fundraiser Will Be Sunday

Sheldon, Iowa — One of the most-active volunteers for Sheldon’s Prarie Arts Historical Park and especially the Baker Township School is celebrating 90 years this weekend.

Prairie Arts Council President Hal Tuttle is turning 90 years old, and the Prairie Arts Council invites the public to come congratulate him. Tuttle says he doesn’t want any presents, but would gladly accept a gift to the Baker Township School project.

We talked to Colleen (Cleveringa) Lemkuil, who’s also been instrumental in the Baker School project, and she tells us about Tuttle’s Birthday Bash, scheduled for Sunday afternoon and evening (July 30th).

She says that if you are planning to listen to the Amy Shaeffer concert, that you bring lawn chairs. There are six picnic tables in the shade available at which people can eat. Lemkuil says there will be tours available of the Prairie Arts Historical Park buildings.

Lemkuil says the project is moving forward, but funding is running low.
